Barney is the most beautiful boy, he is only 9 months old, but is well behaved for his age and relatively laid back given he is still a big puppy! He is large in size and we think he is a Labrador cross Mastiff – he has traits of both breeds. Barney has such a lovely nature with everyone he meets, and loves having a scratch under his chin and his chest! He will be fine in a home with children over 8. He is excellent with other dogs, and may also be OK to live with confident cats. He loves to have a run to burn off his energy, he is currently in training to calm his excitement down when he sees other dogs when he’s on lead – he’s learning very quickly and has picked up walking on a loose lead very well. He does need a firm hand when on walks on lead to keep him in check, but responds brilliantly to commands. He is good off the lead. Barney is very clean in his kennel, so we think he would be housetrained (but would expect a few settling in accidents initially) and will be fine to be left for a few hours during the day. He also travels really well in the car. Barney is a fantastic dog, he would love an active family where he can go on lots of adventures in the great outdoors, and of course he would love a nice comfy bed to snooze in after! He LOVES his food more than anything, he’s now learning to wait nicely for his food, but he will be a bit of a scavenger on the work surfaces/bins in a home if he isn’t given rules!
