Archie the ShihTzu is looking for his dream retirement home! He is 11 yrs old and likes the quiet life. Archie also much prefers women to men, so a single female home would be ideal for him. He is a sweet boy, but needs things to be on his terms, and can be snappy if he doesn’t want to do something (be picked up for example, or have his eyes cleaned!). For the most part though, he’s a sweetheart and just needs a sensible understanding owner to work around him to keep him comfortable and avoid his triggers. Archie is OK with other dogs, but can be grumpy sharing space with other dogs – he is happy in his foster home with 2 laid back female dogs, and could live with an older calmer dog who would tolerate Arch being a bit of a grump at times! He would also need feeding seperately to other dogs. Archie needs direct access to a reasonably flat garden to potter around in. He will enjoy short walks, but gets stiff with longer walks, so must not be exercised too much. His dream home would have experience of his breed, or similar, and have some experience in the care of older dogs (although we will give lots of advice on this where needed, so not essential). He has been through a lot recently, and really does need to settle into his forever retirement home where he can just relax and enjoy his golden years!
