What Little Bear lacks in size, he makes up for in character!! He is a tiny 5kg Pomeranian who came into our care from stray kennels so we don’t know his exact age – we estimate him to be 8-10 yrs old. Little Bear is such a happy little chap who is friendly with everyone he meets (he has his very own tippy tappy happy dance!) and is very tolerant of handling in all aspects. He is cheeky, very clever, so loving (loves his belly rubs!) and knows what he wants! He’s already worked out to ask for more food by tapping his food dish! He will also tap your leg with his paw if he wants attention! Little Bear is tolerant of other dogs, but isn’t keen on sharing attention with others, so he would be happiest living as the only dog or with a VERY calm small dog. He could live with a confident cat. He is clean in the home (may have a very occasional accident), and can be left alone for a few hours with no issues. He does have luxating patellas (his kneecaps pop in/out), and some arthritis, so he is on daily Metacam for pain relief, which he will need long term, and possibly more pain relief adding in as needed as he gets older. He will need direct access to a flat, private garden. He is not able to manage stairs, or to jump on furniture. We don’t think that he is used to walking on a lead, but with gentle encouragement, he will have a little potter on a walk, but he is not a dog who would suit long walks/days out! Little Bear is the most special boy who deserves a home who will give him all the love, care and belly rubs that his little heart desires. We are hoping to find a rescue minded, experienced home for him who have some experience with tiny breeds and their associated health issues such as knee issues.
