BFG Doug is the perfect gent and is ready to find his dream home! He’s such a friendly, happy big chunk and needs a family used to large breeds (and aren’t averse to a bit of slobber!!). Doug is approx 4 yrs old and is a very handsome American Bulldog. He was found as a stray in really terrible condition, and has been with us for a while whilst we got him back to good health – he has gained over 14kg in weight, and now is at a chunky 45kg. Doug is an absolute star – he loves everyone, is super well behaved and has tons of character and is just a little bit cheeky (he is a bull breed after all!!). He is immaculately clean, quiet and non destructive in his kennel – he loves to curl up on a big comfy duvet (sometimes we can hear him snoring away!). He will be fine to be left alone for a few hours in his new home. He loves his walks, and is always excited to go out, and once away from kennels he walks really well on lead. He is walked on a headcollar for control as due to his size he can have a lot of strength behind him if he does pull, but he will walk fine without this with someone who is confident in handling him. He is non reactive to other dogs out and about, but does have a prey drive, so isn’t as comfortable around very small dogs. He is OK with friendly larger breed dogs, but can be a bit ‘full on’, so will need to be the only pet in his new home for now – he loves to be centre of attention! Doug can be rehomed with confident dog savvy children aged 12+. Doug’s favourite things are walks, food, playing with his toys, and sleeping!! He’s brilliant and will be the most amazing best friend and just needs to find a home who know, love and are confident with big chunks like our Doug!
