Sooty the Patterdale is approx 2-3 yrs old and is looking for an understanding and caring home who know and love his breed. He is the most lovely little boy who has suffered terribly in his past life, and bears the facial scars to show it, but we hope this won’t put prospective adopters off. Sooty is a very friendly boy who is always happy to meet new people, always happy to head out for a walk (typical Patterdale!!) and is very easy to handle (fine in the vets and being groomed etc). He is worried by other dogs at the moment and is a bit grumbly/growly when he passes dogs – he will have a go back if a dog has a go at him, but he doesn’t want to start things. Because of this, he will be much happier in a pet free home who understand Patterdales, and won’t put pressure on him to meet dogs out and about. He will need a Terrier proof private garden! Sooty travels well. He will need a child free home. Sooty settles very well and is very quiet in his kennel, and should be fine to be left along for a few hours without issue. He may have some ‘scent marking’ accidents in the home to begin with, but he is now very very clean in his kennel. Sooty LOVES his toys – the squeakier the better! He is a little guy with lots of energy, so will need a home who want to be out and about walking with him (on lead – his recall will not be reliable enough for off lead!) – he is not just a lapdog (although does love his cuddles). He walks well on lead, and is busy busy busy exploring every smell! Sooty really deserves a home after all he’s been through in his short life so far – it’s his time to find out what a loving home is all about.
