Baz the BFG is the most lovely big laid back boy who is looking for a large breed loving home. He is 4-5 yrs old and is a beautiful Presa Canario (Spanish Mastiff). Baz is everyone’s friend – he loves everyone, and is absolutely not a ‘guard dog’!! He is very laid back and loves sitting at your feet having a head scratch. Baz arrived with us in a totally emaciated state – he has gained over 15kg since then, and is now at a healthy weight – he is now 56kg, so is a very big boy. Baz walks very well on lead, but due to his size, he obviously has the ability to be powerful if he does pull, so needs an owner who is physically able/confident to handle him, but generally he is very easy to walk. He is very obedient and listens/responds very well to instruction. Baz will need a confident owner who understands his need for boundaries, structure and consistency. He may have some toiletting accidents at first in a new home environment, but is spotlessly clean in his kennel and will always wait to be taken out for the toilet, and with the right routine, it won’t take him long to become clean. He loves being outside and sunbathing, so having access to a fully secure, private garden would be heaven for him this summer. He is non-reactive to dogs out and about, but we don’t think he would want to share with another, so we are ideally looking for a pet free home for Baz where he can be king of his castle, but would consider a home with a larger breed neutered female. He is not small animal friendly. Baz is the most special boy who will be the most amazing companion – he’s had some terrible luck in life so far, and really needs someone who can turn his luck around and give him that 5* home he so deserves.
