Baz the BFG is the most lovely big laid back boy who is looking for a large breed loving home. He is 4-5 yrs old and is a beautiful Presa Canario (Spanish Mastiff). Baz is everyone’s friend – he loves people and is absolutely not a very good ‘guard dog’ bless him!! He is very laid back and loves sitting at your feet having a head scratch. Baz arrived with us in a totally emaciated state – he has gained over 10kg since then, and is now at a healthy weight. He understandably loves his food, having been starved previously, so we feed him in a slow feeder to slow his eating down. Baz walks very well on lead without pulling, but as he is a large breed (over 50kg), he has the ability to be powerful if he does pull, and needs an owner who is physically able/confident to handle him, but generally he is very easy to walk. He is currently struggling with some seperation anxiety and will howl/have accidents when left alone for more than an hour or so, so he does need some patience with this to get him feeling more confortable being on his own. Due to his size, he will need a home with plenty of room for him! He loves sunbathing, so having access to a garden would be heaven for him this summer! Having no history about Baz, he isn’t assessed around children, so needs a home with older children upwards. He is non-reactive to dogs out and about, but we don’t think he would want to share with another, so we are ideally looking for a pet free home for Baz where he can be king of his castle, but would consider a home with a larger breed neutered female. He will be the most amazing companion.
