Poppy is a gorgeous 6 month old Chihuahua puppy who is currently living in a foster home while she waits to find her perfect forever home. She is a real character who loves attention and to sit on your knee. She can be shy of new people/places to start but soon comes round and is full of puppy fun! She does need help with her housetraining as she is very reluctant to toilet outside at the moment so she needs a patient home to help her with this. She is living with 4 other dogs who she does pester to play a lot which does annoy them at times! She does bark/growl at other dogs if she sees them on walks and when she meets them for the first time, but when she’s realised they aren’t a threat she LOVES to play! Poppy also guards her food/treats around other dogs and will snap at them if she thinks they are stealing her things…! We think she’d love to live with another smaller younger male dog (she is too bossy with females) who will keep up with her and enjoy playing with her. Poppy is absolutely fine around cats, she’s a little scared of them at first. She is used to sleeping in a crate and is OK to be left for a couple of hours once settled but as she’s a young dog she will need lots of company and attention. She is very clever and really would benefit from attending puppy training classes. Poppy has lots of energy and needs 2 walks a day – she loves to run in long grass with other dogs she knows but can’t be let off lead until she’s had work with her recall. We are looking for a home who know and love Chihuahuas, Poppy is a really special little girl!
