**BORIS IS IN KENNELS AT THE MOMENT AND IS DESPERATE FOR A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME** Boris is a very handsome, friendly young Mastiff cross who is around 2 years old and is looking for a home who have experience with large breed dogs. He is possibly crossed with a Sharpei, he has a beautiful light brindle coat and is very chunky in size. Boris is a friendly lad and has been no trouble at all with us in kennels and is a pleasure to look after. He arrived with us as a stray so we have no history about him but he does have a few pressure sores on his legs (now healed) that would indicate he hadn’t had the best of lives so far and has had to lie on hard floors to sleep. Boris knows some commands and sits for a treat. He is also clean in his kennel which suggests he is housetrained and will be fine to be left for a few hours. He is quite laid back and also travels well in the car. He also has his playful moments and loves to chuck his toys around and play fetch. As Boris is a big lad he needs someone who can handle him confidently on walks, he walks very well on a halti type head collar and doesn’t pull at all, but obviously is a powerful dog and needs someone to be in control of him. When he sees another dog on lead, Boris gets very over excited and pulls/barks, which can then lead into an aggressive reaction towards the other dog if he’s not taken away from the situation as he becomes frustrated. He will need walking away from other dogs at the moment while this is worked on, it’s very workable, but he needs to trust the person who is walking him before he can start his training. With no distractions around, Boris is a dream to walk as he will plod by your side! As we don’t have any history on Boris, we can’t rehome him with children under 16. He really is a lovely dog who deserves a good home ASAP after his bad start to life. He will be the most loyal companion.
